Un-Motivated Staff = ?

As we are now starting the "People In Organisations" part of Unit F292, one of the first topics we will be covering is Motivational Theories.  We will be looking at the following theorists:
  • Taylor
  • Mayo
  • Herzberg
  • McGregor
  • Maslow
You will need to know the key theories for each motivational theorist along with the benefits and drawbacks of each.  As always, application is key and you will need to be ableto apply these theories to a variety of industries, businesses and real-world situations.

There's LOADS of examples of motivation in practice, both in positive and negative ways. Here's the British Airways situation, how is motivation affecting their employees at the moment?

Money Well Spent?

Check out the above link.  It seems that the Government spent £400 million each on 9 planes which it is now "recycling".  They have never been used.

Could this money have been spent elsewhere? Is this the fault of poor marketing or poor marketing research?
